BIOGRAPHY
Tamara has called Albany her home since the age of seven. With her interest in cooking sparked by helping her Nan cook the Sunday Roast and “peel the spuds”, she went on to complete Cert II in Commercial Cooking and work in local kitchens, preparing fish and seafood, as well as at Boston Brewery.
As part of the team for the last two years at Whalers Galley Café, located on the water’s edge at Albany’s Historic Whaling Station, Tamara thrives knowing that her guests are happy and enjoying the flavours of the ocean. She brings her passion and creativity to the café’s specialty of fresh fish and squid, along with a varied array of delicious baked treats!
Tamara looks forward to one day owning her own food van so that she can “take her food and art anywhere!”
Whaler’s Galley Café has become known as one of the only balconies to overlook the ocean with water lapping directly below. Nothing like the ideal spot to feel and smell the salt air, and to look out for passing whales and dolphins whilst enjoying the local catches!
