Freelance Chef, Event Chef

Geoff Richardson is a chef in love with the Great Southern and its produce. Originally from the UK, Geoff learnt to cook in boutique pubs and restaurants in villages in the English Countryside. Here, Geoff learnt the philosophy of ‘food being true to and reflective of a region’, where game and trays of garden vegetables are still traded for pints of beer at the local pub.

Relocating to Australia, Geoff embraced the Western Australian restaurant scene at Ascot’s 150 East and more recently BG’s Kitchen. It was an easy decision to move to the Great Southern, where he can have direct contact with the local farmers, growers and producers. The amazing regional wine sealed the deal.

Geoff is now a freelance Chef, whose favourite food to cook and eat is honest, no-frills cooking based in a respect for the ingredients. His current passion project is Market Grill, a mobile food venture aimed at taking local produce street food to markets, events, festivals and community projects around the Great Southern.
